As a Competitor Intelligence & Strategy Intern you will be a part of the product management team at BOSCH Japan and will play a crucial role in improving our competitive intelligence and contributing to the Vehicle Motion Division strategy of BOSCH Japan.
Your responsibilities will include:
Research and document intelligence around the automotive market & innovation (60-70%) Business Area of Braking Steering Motion-software & -sensors
- Staying updated on the latest developments in the competitive landscape and providing valuable insights to our regional and global strategy and business community
- Manage knowledge of key competitors and the global competitive landscape creating competitor reports and conducting analyses for the product management team and our top management providing transparency for strategic decision-making
- Manage automotive market knowledge globally but with a focus on Japan and East Asia
Data-base -creation & -management / Data visualization / Data access improvement: (20-30%)
- Create and maintain digitalized platforms as information sources for market intelligence and competitor related data
- Utilizing and continuous improvement of research technology and tools such as process automation AI solutions for intelligent data collection storage analysis and innovative platforms/dashboards
- Work on improvements for existing digital platforms
- Manage and migrate multiple data sources
- Create Power BI dashboards and convincing data-visualizations
Qualifications :
Required studies/skills:
- Studies in (Technical) Business Administration Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or similar
- Knowledge/interest in automotive technology
- Knowledge/interest in digitalization data science data management and information management
- Ability to create visually convincing presentations dashboards and reports
- Knowledge/interest in applying new AI supported data-management technologies
- Knowledge/interest in project management / coordination across East Asia countries
Preferred skills:
- Knowledge/interest in Python and SQL
- Be a communicative proactive self-driven and reliable team player!
- Willing to work on ad-hoc tasks that are not mentioned in the job description (max. 10-20%)
Required language abilities:
- Intermediate to Business Level in English

*We offer a very competitive monthly net allowance of 200000 Yen on a full-time scheme. We will also provide you with all necessary documents and information for a successful Designated Activities visa application. Please note that the full visa process may take up to three months. Furthermore applicants who intend to have an internship period for 12 months/already hold residence status in Japan will receive a monthly gross allowance.
**Japanese Nationals:
Please note that Japanese nationals do not require a visa process. Depending on the needs of the receiving department students fulfilling this condition may begin their internship within one month of being hired.
***Exchange students
Please note that foreign nationals on a student visa with permission for part-time job (資格外活動許可) do not require a visa process. Students fulfilling these conditions will be eligible to work on a part-time scheme only. Depending on the needs of the receiving department exchange students may begin their internship within one month of being hired.
****Non-Japanese Nationals (visa requirements):
Please note that applicants who are not Japanese nationals need to be eligible to obtain the Designated Activities Visa for an internship with Bosch Japan. Therefore only students who fulfill the following conditions are eligible to apply:
A.) Enrolled student at a university at least 3 months before the internship and during the entire internship period.
B.) Doing the internship will require your university to sign a document confirming that the internship represents a mandatory or strongly recommended part of your university curriculum when applying for your visa.
