This role reports directly to the Executive Assistant Manager and works in close collaboration with the Executive Chef Food Services Coordinator and the Pullman Adelaide culinary and stewarding teams.
As a Chef supporting the Transition Care Service (TCS) at Pullman Adelaide you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality nutritious meals to patients recovering in a hotel-based healthcare setting. This unique position blends culinary excellence with compassionate care contributing to the wellbeing and recovery of guests through thoughtful food preparation and service.
Youll be actively involved in leading kitchen operations dedicated to TCSpreparing meals plating with care and ensuring every dish meets dietary needs cultural preferences and food safety standards all while delivering Pullmans signature hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and cooking of meals for TCS guests ensuring high-quality food is consistently served
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Food Services Coordinator to plan menus that cater to dietary requirements preferences and cultural needs
- Oversee kitchen operations including mise en place tray setup stock control waste management and food safety protocols
- Ensure meals are beautifully presented and meet all food safety and infection control standards
- Work closely with kitchen stewarding and Food Services Coordinator to ensure timely and organized meal delivery
- Communicate effectively with the Food Services Coordinator regarding guest needs and relay relevant information for seamless service
- Monitor supplies and equipment dedicated to TCS reporting any malfunctions and coordinating maintenance to ensure smooth daily operations
- Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff fostering a culture of excellence and care
- Uphold Pullman Service Standardsevery interaction every detail every day
Qualifications :

Skills and Attributes
- Culinary expertise with a passion for preparing nutritious high-quality meals
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in a similar role ideally within aged care or hospitality
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
- Excellent time management task coordination and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work across hospitality and care teams
- Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced resident-focused setting
- A collaborative spirit and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
- Hold (or be eligible to obtain) a South Australian Working with Vulnerable People Check and National Police Clearance
- Full-time working rights in Australia
