Job Summary

Spark Academy Physical Education TeacherSpark Academy seeks an excellent Physical Education Teacher who will be an incredibly positive strong energetic presence in the lives of our children. PE teachers at Spark Academy are responsible for designing and implementing the fitness and athletic programming which uses the research-based principle that regular aerobic exercise increases academic performance. PE Teachers will be responsible for developing highly engaging structured lesson plans and implementing research-based teaching strategies in a positive well-managed environment. Our teachers realize that an incredibly important part of teaching is investing students in learning and motivating students to work hard. Spark Academy seeks a PE Teacher who is committed to helping build a positive school culture by improving school-wide systems dealing with student motivation behavior community and parent outreach and curriculum design. The Academy also seeks a PE Teacher who drives to continuously improve their instruction through collaboration with and feedback from colleagues and administrators and is committed to training and leading their associate teachers to become highly every day with an extremely strong positive energetic presence to motivate and inspire students;Engage and motivate all students during athletic classes;Design and implement daily lesson plans for athletic classes that focus on elevating heart-rate for all students as well as fitness and/or athletic skill-building; Collect and track student fitness data;Supervise train and lead several ATCs in daily athletic and fitness programming;Design and implement academic skill-building activities in athletic classes;Oversee and manage multiple structured recess periods and/or lunch;Participate in activities and play games with students;Teach small group leveled instruction academic class;Provide specific and actionable feedback to students on their progress towards fitness and athletic goals;Collaborate with academic colleagues to build in applicable academic skills into athletic classes;Participate in grade-level activities and school-wide functions;Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior;Organize and keep track of fitness equipment;Serve as an advisor for 7-12 students and contact their families at least 2 times per month;Communicate regularly and effectively with students families and colleagues;Participate in 4 after school family events every year (e.g. parent nights etc.);Arrive promptly and professionally for every 7 hour and 35 min teacher day Participate in a staff orientation prior to the start of school;Eager and willing to wholeheartedly embrace school-wide systems e.g. behavior system etc.;Other responsibilities as designated by the administration.
