The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs on light heavy-duty and diesel trucks as well as road construction and maintenance equipment. This role also involves diagnosing issues in hydraulic and electrical systems while promoting and maintaining safe work practices.
Diagnose and Repair
Diagnose and perform repairs on various equipment types including tires brakes lighting systems pumps and valves.
Use diagnostic scan tools to identify and clear engine codes.
Maintain Documents and Records
Prepare process and maintain maintenance and repair documentation.
Generate work orders and enter data into computer systems.
Accurately record time and leave entries as required.
Perform Manual Labor
Assist with general shop tasks and manual work as part of repair and maintenance operations.
Support team efforts to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.
Preventive Maintenance
Perform routine preventive maintenance according to schedules and operational guidelines.
Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
Ability to perform manual labor and safely handle tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical information.
Ability to record and maintain data in computer systems.
Knowledge of general shop procedures and safety practices.
