General Information:
Program Assistants (PAs) staff The Club House space in the Union 208 (Taylor Hall) as well as the front desk in the Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) suite - The Union 320 (Warren Hall).
Housed within the Student Life Department we foster belonging through the personal growth and development of an engaged citizenry by providing welcoming experiences and spaces.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide front desk coverage for The Union 208 (The Club House).
Provide front desk coverage for The Union 320 (Student Leadership and Involvement Office).
Assist students in creating craft and promotional projects locating supplies.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
Enforce Club House rules.
Assist with Student Org Night in the Fall and Spring.
Work days nights and/or weekends for approximately 10 hours per week.
Attend bi-weekly staff meetings.
Assist Student Life staff as requested.
Handle all aspects of the front desk for example: Greeting guests answering multi-line phone system pick up mail and packages from post office etc.
Provide guidance to students faculty and staff in the following areas: BeInvolved Student Life website Student Organization registration processes and more.
Assist office staff with various administrative tasks and initiatives such as Adams Law/Stop the Haze and Annual Student Organization Registration.
Participate on a Program Assistant committee following through on assignments special projects and collaborating with other PAs.
Qualifications:
Commitment to providing a welcoming environment in SLI spaces.
Ability to manage time as a student employee working about 10 hours/week.
Communicate effectively with students faculty and staff.
Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors respectfully and professionally.
Understands and appreciates the initiatives of the Student Life department.
Must be available during business hours 8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday.
Some after-hours availability needed.
Must meet James Madison Universitys conditions of employment.

Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
