Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental health and safety (EHS) expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Youll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
Youll lead efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements champion a culture of safety and drive continuous improvement in rail operations. Day-to-day youll work closely with teams across the business (operations equipment and training teams) conduct hazard analyses and safety audits and much more.
Well look to you for:
Leading all EHS efforts related to transportation and mainline passenger service operations.
Ensuring compliance with federal state and local regulations including FRA FTA CPUC OSHA and EPA.
Developing implementing and monitoring EHS programs policies and procedures aligned with 49 CFR 200299 and industry best practices.
Conducting hazard analyses risk assessments and safety audits.
Collaborating with operations equipment and training teams to address safety concerns and integrate EHS into operational planning.
Investigating incidents accidents and near-misses; developing and tracking corrective actions.
Providing EHS training and guidance to staff and contractors.
Maintaining records and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Participating in emergency response planning and drills.
Supporting the development of annual EHS scope schedules and budgets.

Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Safety Transportation or related fieldor equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of transportation experience with at least 8 years in the railroad industry.
Minimum 5 years in an EHS role within transportation or rail.
Deep understanding of 49 CFR 200299 particularly safety-related sections.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to present to Senior Metrolink Leadership and public stakeholder groups.
Excellent leadership and collaboration skills across departments and labor crafts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
Knowledge of new technologies to improve safety efficiency and reduce costs.
Subject matter expertise in railroad safety hazard analysis and regulatory compliance.
