Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental health and safety (EHS) expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Youll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
Youll lead efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements champion a culture of safety and drive continuous improvement in rail operations. Day-to-day youll work closely with teams across the business (operations equipment and training teams) conduct hazard analyses and safety audits and much more.

Well look to you for:

• Leading all EHS efforts related to transportation and mainline passenger service operations.

• Ensuring compliance with federal state and local regulations including FRA FTA CPUC OSHA and EPA.

• Developing implementing and monitoring EHS programs policies and procedures aligned with 49 CFR 200299 and industry best practices.

• Conducting hazard analyses risk assessments and safety audits.

• Collaborating with operations equipment and training teams to address safety concerns and integrate EHS into operational planning.

• Investigating incidents accidents and near-misses; developing and tracking corrective actions.

• Providing EHS training and guidance to staff and contractors.

• Maintaining records and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Participating in emergency response planning and drills.

• Supporting the development of annual EHS scope schedules and budgets.

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Safety Transportation or related fieldor equivalent experience.

• Minimum 5 years of transportation experience with at least 8 years in the railroad industry.

• Minimum 5 years in an EHS role within transportation or rail.

• Deep understanding of 49 CFR 200299 particularly safety-related sections.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to present to Senior Metrolink Leadership and public stakeholder groups.

• Excellent leadership and collaboration skills across departments and labor crafts.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.

• Knowledge of new technologies to improve safety efficiency and reduce costs.

• Subject matter expertise in railroad safety hazard analysis and regulatory compliance.
