As the Pastoral Care Practitioner you will take a lead role honouring this legacy and in nurturing the commitment of all to the mission and values of StVincentsCareToowoomba.

We are looking for a compassionate spiritual and professional person to join the Pastoral Care team working with the Facility Manager and care team to respond effectively to the diverse emotional spiritual and religious needs of our residents and their families. Applicants must have a sound understanding of our Mission and a genuine commitment to the service of the aged vulnerable and poor.

This will be a permanent part time position initially working 30.4 hours per fortnight across 2 days each week at OZ Care Facility Toowoomba.


Things that work for us:

  • Attainment of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) qualification or equivalent training in the care of the sick the dying and the grieving (Essential);

  • Relevant pastoral experience in a similar clinical/care/education environment (highly regarded)

  • Tertiary studies in Theology (highly regarded)

  • Tertiary studies in Mental Health (highly regarded)

  • Demonstrated ability to promote Catholic ethos (highly regarded)

  • Familiarity with Catholic culture ritual theology tradition and worldview (highly regarded)

  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.

  • Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities

  • Ability to build rapport trust empathy or strong relationships

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Respect and sensitivity in ministry to persons of various religious cultural and ethnic backgrounds Life Philosophies and Faith Traditions

  • Competent technology and computer skills

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
