An Outstanding secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a DT Technician to support its Design & Technology team on a full-time permanent basis starting January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with technical or workshop experience who enjoys working with both staff and students.

This Outstanding school educates approximately 1200 students aged 1118 and is well-regarded across Birmingham for its modern facilities inclusive ethos and strong academic performance. The Design & Technology department boasts specialist workshops CAD software 3D printers and modern tools that encourage creativity and innovation.
The DT Technician will provide practical and technical support to staff and students ensuring safe and efficient use of tools materials and machinery.
Experience and Qualifications
Experience as a DT Technician or in a similar workshop-based role
Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures
Good communication and teamwork skills
A relevant technical or engineering qualification is desirable
Salary
The salary for this DT Technician role will be paid according to experience on the schools support staff scale.
