Position Summary
The Rehabilitation Aide - Floater supports members in pre-vocational activities across Food
Services Janitorial and Workshop units at North Jersey Friendship House (NJFH). The ideal
candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without
reasonable accommodation. Responsibilities vary by assignment and are performed as needed. Monday through Friday (7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.).
General Job Duties (All Units)
Orient members to unit-specific operations and procedures
Supervise and assist members with task completion
Lead task-oriented training groups and group activities
Conduct initial and quarterly evaluations using program forms
Perform time studies
Document daily notes in electronic health records and correct discrepancies within 24
hours
Respond to emails daily professionally and in a timely manner
Communicate member progress with counselors and report behavioral concerns as
needed
Follow posted work schedule
Setup and calculate daily member work slips

Unit-Specific Responsibilities
Food Services
Train members in food service skills and Department of Health regulations
Collaborate with Food Service Manager on menu planning
Supervise food prep quality control and member assignments
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and enforce DOH standards
May include inventory responsibilities as determined by manager
Supervise in-house meal services and assist with deliveries
Wear appropriate uniform
Production Workshop
Interact help and support members with assignments in a supportive and productive
manner
Maintain a productive and professional work environment
Drive box truck to pick up/deliver workshop materials when necessary
Must be able to pick up and move boxes up to 25 lbs.
Janitorial
Supervise members in the in-house janitorial department
Evaluate members for community janitorial job readiness
Assign and supervise daily janitorial tasks
Oversee building cleaning and janitorial services
Participate in evacuation drills
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years of food service and/or janitorial experience preferred
Serv Safe certification or able to obtain within 60 days of hire and maintain certification
Basic computer knowledge necessary
Valid drivers license with clean driving record
