Position Overview

The Office of Performance Management is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Performance Management Specialist. Assists management in organizing planning control and evaluation of the Agencys performance management system. Oversees compliance with performance management monitoring and accreditation initiatives; manages and implements the strategic plan electronic performance management dashboard system; prepares reports for Governors Office and Office of the Comptroller; develops training materials and conducts performance management trainings. Oversees the Agencys compliance with Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) requirements.

  • Organizes plans executes controls and evaluates the Agency Performance Management Program in accordance with the departments Strategic Plan for assigned areas.
  • Manages and implements the electronic performance management dashboard system.
  • Researches published national benchmark metrics and consults with offices to establish and implement feasible benchmark targets.
  • Develops training materials and conducts performance management training for office staff throughout assigned areas of the agency.
  • Serves as a member of Quality Improvement Committee providing updates regarding performance management metric work plans and status of ongoing performance metric projects.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.

Specialized Skills

  • Of the years above requires experience coordinating and reviewing documentation in compliance with accreditation standards and measures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year experience coordinating and reviewing documentation in compliance with accreditation standards and measures.
  • Bachelors degree in public health or health administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles of program statistics.
  • One (1) years experience in metric development and performance analysis.
  • One (1) year experience providing written and oral reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and train agency staff on performance management and quality improvement issues.
  • One (1) year experience with strategic project management principles.
  • One (1) year experience as administrator over electronic performance dashboards or Balanced Scorecard method for assessing performance
