Job Summary
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands phosphate mining fertilizer manufacturing farming ranching and cattle production and other enterprises related to agriculture.
Summary
Being a Procurement Intern at Simplot is a dynamic position helping our team develop new tools and systems. As an intern youll get to work with existing data systems and processes and discover new ways to innovate them. This is a full-time summer-long internship at our HQ in Boise ID. Candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with senior level category managers and procurement experts as they learn to become a successful analyst manager and leader. Every intern will get to build their own project focusing on any system they identify being ripe for improvement using their college education.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and managing business intelligence solutions for the organization
- Analyzing business requirements and processes and recommending them to the management and executives for implementation
- Creating and managing projects to improve procurement systems.
- Managing and sourcing supplier contracts.
Typical Education
- Must be currently enrolled in a college/university pursing a Bachelors degree MBA or other Business Masters degree in one of the following degree paths:
- Supply Chain Management
- IT Management
- Business Administration
- Procurement
- Business Analytics
- Economics
- International Business
- Related fields
Relevant Experience
- Advanced knowledge with Excel
- Advanced knowledge of office suite
- Self-motivated
- Excellent business communication skills
- Experience with PowerBi highly preferred
- Experience with Power Platforms highly preferred
- Experience or certification in project management highly preferred
Other Information
- Internship is for Summer 2026:
- May through August flexible start/end date
- M - F 8 hours/day 40 hours/week
- Junior or Senior or Master preferred
- Three positions available
