The Commis Banquet is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of food for banquet events. The role supports the culinary team in delivering consistently high-quality dishes that meet hotel standards and guest expectations. Working under the guidance of senior chefs the Commis ensures that all assigned tasks are carried out efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene safety and organization.
Qualifications :
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required; completing a culinary program or obtaining a certificate in culinary arts is advantageous.
- Culinary Knowledge: Basic understanding of culinary techniques food preparation methods and kitchen equipment with familiarity in banquet or large-scale event service.
- Experience: Previous experience in a professional kitchen is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knife skills proficiency in basic cooking techniques and the ability to work efficiently under pressure with attention to detail.
- Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork and Communication: Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively while following direction from senior chefs.
