Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital is recruiting a pediatric cardiac critical care physician to join its rapidly growing program. Successful candidate will be a self-starter and a leader who is fellowship trained and board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care with advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care or significant clinical experience caring for pediatric cardiac critical care patients. Teaching of residents and fellows will be a portion of the new physicians responsibilities.
This physician will also work in our unique 15-bed Sedation Unit where we provide sedation and perform procedures. As the prime pediatric clinical and academic partner of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital offers academic appointments for qualified candidates and support for research.
Practice Description
The dynamic team of twenty-one critical care physicians including experienced and mid-career providers cares for a wide range of high acuity patients. This new physician will join 11 of the existing cardiac critical care physicians. The 30-bed unit in which there are 6 dedicated cardiac critical care beds is very busy. Our cardiac surgical program does approximately 250 surgical cases/year. We have recently received UNOS certification as part of our new heart transplant program. The new physician will enjoy working in an institution that has supportive leadership opportunities for growth and support for research. The physicians are members of the Corewell Health Medical Group a growing physician-led multi-specialty practice.
Qualifications
Education - Medical Degree (MD or DO)
Licenses - Active M.D. or D.O. license (eligible in the state of Michigan).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Specific to SHMG 90 Days
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
