Position Overview:
Serve as the cornerstone of subsurface data integrity at PETROS by managing validating and governing high-quality data across corporate platforms. This role is essential for transforming raw data into a trusted accessible asset that fuels technical analysis collaboration and innovation across the exploration and production lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data loading validation and quality assurance of subsurface data into corporate databases to ensure data accuracy completeness and readiness for technical analysis and decision-making.
- Maintain metadata data catalogues and audit trails for traceability and compliance to ensure efficient data retrieval.
- Enforce corporate data standards and best practices in subsurface data management to ensure consistency reliability and alignment with regulatory and operational requirements.
- Facilitate secure and efficient data transfers to internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration reporting and regulatory submissions.
- Develop and maintain workflows for data sharing including format conversions and access controls to enable controlled and efficient data exchange while protecting data integrity.
- Support digital initiatives by integrating automation tools and contributing to data analytics projects to enhance operational efficiency enable data-driven decision-making and modernize subsurface data management practices.
- Assist in IT demand planning and budgeting processes related to subsurface data systems to ensure adequate resource allocation and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Provide training and support to subsurface users on data tools workflows and standards to enhance user competency promote best practices and improve data handling efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Earth Sciences Data Science Information Technology or a related field. Diploma holders with extensive relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum 5 years (for degree holders) or 8 years (for diploma holders) of experience in the oil and gas industry with a strong understanding of subsurface data types and their use in exploration development and production.
- Familiarity with industry-standard subsurface data models (e.g. PPDM) and data governance frameworks.
- Familiar with or have hands-on experience with industry platforms such as Petrel and/or OpenWorks/DSG.
- Proficiency with tools like Power BI or Spotfire. Experience with Python and SQL for data manipulation and automation is a significant advantage.
- Experience with GIS software like ArcGIS.
- Familiarity with document management systems like SharePoint.
