Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Group Instructors

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

• Administer manualized cognitive behavioral therapy for teens

• Prepare for weekly cognitive behavioral therapy groups

• Co-facilitate weekly cognitive behavioral therapy groups

• Monitor group dynamics and cross talk

• Watch for signs of clinical deterioration

• Consult with the principal investigator as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in Psychology required.

• 1-2 years of experience in a therapeutic setting with adolescents required.

• Experience running group interventions required.

• Experience delivering cognitive behavioral therapy is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated commitment and actions to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

• Must be able to sit in an in-person group for 55 minutes.

• Must be fluent in English.

Competencies:

• Clinical decision making must be able to make determinations as to appropriate content to be shared in groups.

• Independence must be able to facilitate a group on their own if needed.

• Knowledge must demonstrate good understanding of the therapeutic principles behind cognitive behavioral therapy and the scientific rationale for randomized clinical trials and adherence to a manual.

• Teamwork must be able to work with another facilitator to run groups together and demonstrate mutual respect.

• Oral communication must be able to communicate complex ideas to adolescents in a group setting.

Age-based Competencies:

• Employees in this job must be competent to provide patient care to the following age groups: Adolescents 12-18.

Physical Nature of the Job: Sedentary sitting most of the time.

Pay Range:

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors that may include seniority education training relevant experience relevant certifications geographyof work location job responsibilities or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials call pay premium pay overtime pay and other additional pay practices as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
