RN Emergency Department Per Diem (Days)
Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and effective patient care in the Emergency Department of a Level IV Trauma Center. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment planning implementation and evaluation to deliver safe evidence-based care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical surgical and trauma-related conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment rapid response capability and effective communication with physicians patients and multidisciplinary care teams.
Key Responsibilities -
Perform rapid and accurate triage assessment and stabilization of emergency and trauma patients.

Administer medications perform procedures and implement physician orders safely and efficiently.

Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.

Collaborate with physicians and allied staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

Provide patient and family education on discharge instructions treatment and follow-up care.

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with trauma and emergency care protocols.

Participate in trauma resuscitations and emergency response activations as required.

Uphold patient privacy safety and regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications (Legally Required) -
Current and valid Kansas RN license.

Current BLS (AHA) certification.

Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
-
PALS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience in an acute care or trauma setting.

TNCC and ENPC preferred.
