The Division of Laryngology & Voice Disorders within the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix AZ is seeking a fellowship-trained Laryngologist to join our talented team.

The qualified candidate will join one other laryngologist in a department of 13 surgeons 3 Otolaryngology residents per year and a team of physician assistants and nurses dedicated to world-class patient-centered tertiary care. Within the Division of Laryngology masters and Ph.D. level speech-language pathologists with specialized training are involved in the care of our patients.

The current practice encompasses the full scope of laryngology including voice swallowing airway and laryngeal cancer. Our state-of-the-art practice further boasts:

  • In-clinic procedure room for office-based procedures with multiple angiolytic lasers.
  • In-clinic fluoroscopy capabilities run by our Laryngology and Speech-Language Pathology team for on-demand video fluoroscopic swallow studies.
  • Multidisciplinary Voice Clinic jointly staffed by Laryngology and Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Multidisciplinary Swallow Clinic jointly staffed by Laryngology Speech-Language Pathology and Gastroenterology.
  • Multidisciplinary Spasmodic Dysphonia Clinic jointly staffed by Laryngology and Neurology.
  • Active Larynx and Trachea Transplantation and Regeneration Program.

The opportunity offers the appropriate person to rapidly attain clinical academic teaching research and leadership experience:

  • Lead a program focused on complex laryngeal disorders supported by a multidisciplinary team and robust academic resources.
  • Practice in both outpatient and hospital-based settings at one location providing comprehensive care for patients requiring voice swallowing airway and laryngeal cancer procedures.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Speech-Language Pathology Head and Neck Surgery Thoracic Surgery Gastroenterology Neurology and Transplant colleagues to optimize reconstructive outcomes and enhance functional recovery.
  • Engage in research and innovation with dedicated time and institutional support for advancing techniques in laryngeal reconstruction and functional restoration.
  • Contribute to education and mentorship working closely with Mayo Clinic Otolaryngology residents our speech-language pathology clinical fellow and medical students at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Arizona.




Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a strong collaborative interest in multidisciplinary clinical care research and teaching. Expertise in complex reconstructive procedures is preferred. Candidates must also possess:

  • MD DO or equivalent degree form an accredited institution.
  • Training in an accredited Laryngology Fellowship.
  • BE/BC from the American Board of Otolaryngology.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the state of Arizona.
