ABOUT THIS EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT:
Department of Economic Opportunity is seeking qualified candidates to fill an Administrative Services Manager II vacancy in the departments Policy and Strategy Division. Under the emergency order applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days with an opportunity for permanent County employment. Before the end of your initial work period you will be assessed on your work performance.
During your initial work period you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%. Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Administrative Services Manager II.

OPTION 1:
A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university

Three years of experience performing analytical assignments and developing policy recommendations two years of which must have been at the level of a *journey-level analyst or higher within economic development or workforce development.
OPTION 2:
Five years of experience performing analytical assignments and developing policy recommendations two years of which must have been at the level of a *journey-level analyst or higher within economic development or workforce development.
*Journey-level analyst work involves the independent performance of work assignments which require the use of sound professional judgment initiative and creativity in identifying and selecting research and analytical methods and techniques to perform analytical assignments and develop policy recommendations related to economic development or workforce development.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journey-level analyst experience performing analytical assignments and developing policy recommendations for economic development or workforce development in a large metropolitan area.
- Experience coordinating and guiding varied teams across large local government organizations or complex nonprofit agencies to develop economic and workforce development programs strategies and recommendations.
- Experience in local policy development workforce development programs program development and design policies and strategies and administrative processes.
- Experience in solving complex problems with attention to both macro-level and micro-level issues: integrating complex information from many sources to develop recommendations
- Knowledge of economic development studies and analyses research methods and administration and management.
- Strong written and oral expression.

LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS 2:
Positions within this class require light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
EXAMINATION CONTENT:
Before the end of your initial work assignment the appointing department will evaluate your performance weighted at100%. Those who achieve a passing score on this evaluation will be considered for permanent appointment.
