An opportunity for a EF PM&T Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space Getafe (Madrid).

Our team Products and Solutions is part of the engineering function in Airbus Defence and Space designing and developing products hardware and software providing connectivity and communications capabilities to our customers. These products are integrated as part of the solutions provided by two out of the three main programme lines in Airbus Defence and Space Secure Communications in Connected Intelligence and all military airborne platforms in Military Air Systems (A400M Eurofighter C295 etc.)

You will take part in a high performance team that is involved in the complete lifecycle of the embedded software product from building the SW requirements to the final testing and target computer implementation. You should be able to lead and take responsibility on design/architectural decisions as well as leading the development of specific projects.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You need to be eligible to gain NATO/National security clearance.

EXPORT CONTROL: Some technical data to be used as part of this job position is licensed for specific users/country use. Be aware that some extra check will be done to ensure compliance with existing future National/US export licenses.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional travel within national and international areas (around 3-day trip).

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM:

Management of ITAR and/or NATO data with third parties.
Support to deployment of EP/T tools according to the planning established.
Users support for EP/T users community
Support and/or provide training courses.
Administration of Linux Solaris and virtual OpenVMS servers.
Management/maintenance of HW/SW infrastructure for Eurofighter Processes and Tools team:
- Installation & configuration of Hardware and Software: SPARC servers with Solaris and Proliant servers with RHEL.
- Installation and configuration of communication switches (i.e. VLANs) if required.
- Network monitorization of servers
- Administration activities at Operating System level (RHEL Solaris and OpenVMS): storage and file system administration users administration OS upgrades patches etc.
- Management of virtual machines (including vax emulators) and software containers (dockers) if required.
- Backup/Recovery of data with specific hardware and software.
- Support to infrastructure securization if required.
Management of documentation (wiki style) and documentation of internal procedures and other possible activities.
Installation and Configuration of Dimensions CM as SW Configuration Management tool used for Eurofighter program including Oracle as DBMS and Apache Tomcat.
Installation/deployment and configuration of EP/T tools according to the planning established.
Development of tools in order to improve SCM processes and/or interfaces with EP/T tools.

ABOUT YOU:

Required skills and qualifications:

Educated in software IT telecommunication industrial engineering degree or a related discipline.
Nagios-type network monitoring tools for real-time network monitoring and performance analysis.
Virtualization Software: Proficiency with VMware Hyper-V or KVM to create and manage virtual environments. Additionally some experience with Stromasys Charon-VAX software would be advantageous.
Familiarization with Dockers management and tools for it.
Backup and Recovery: using backup solutions like Veritas NetBackup for data protection and disaster recovery.
IT Service Management (ITSM) Tools: Use platforms like ServiceNow BMC Remedy and JIRA to manage IT services and workflows.
Expertise with Source code management (Version Control System) tools like git github subversion cvs.
Expertise with automation and software configuration management tools encompassing traditional scripts and specialized tools. Experience with Dimensions CM would be a plus. ()
A comprehensive grasp of coding and scripting in common languages including Python Perl PHP.
Familiarity with coding language like C or Java.
Expertise with Unix (RHEL Solaris) and OpenVMS systems administration
Expertise with Oracle and Shell scripting
Fluent level of English and Spanish

Preferred skills and qualifications:

Interest and ability to conciliate multiple perspectives regarding products projects and processes.
