Position Summary:

Coordinates and assists in the supervision of activities of Halperns warehouse functions.

Essential Functions:

Develops and implements policies and procedures for various warehouse / production activities including verification of incoming and outgoing shipments handling and disposition of materials and maintenance of a current inventory.
Performs inspections of physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepares work orders for repairs or requisitions for replacement of equipment.
Collaborates with department heads in the coordination of warehouse activities with other functions including production sales records control and purchasing.
Direct salvage of damaged or used material.
Collaborates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
Provides leadership ensures adherence to Halperns Steak and Seafood policies and procedures and applies corrective action when required.
Interviews hires trains and retains staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors motivates and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them.
Routinely monitors manages and controls budget analyzes variances and takes appropriate action and develops plans for productivity improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Must have good written verbal organizational and communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities.
Must have ability to prepare and deliver presentations and speak at minor functions as a departmental representative.
Must have the ability to multitask prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
Must be able to perform fundamental mathematical functions
Must be able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance.
Knowledge of spreadsheet word processing presentation email and internet software applications.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

High School / Equivalent
Bachelor Degree (preferred)

Minimum Years of Experience:

3 years of experience as a warehouse leadership required. Food service industry experience preferred

In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.
