The Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology. Start date is August 2026.

The Department of Psychology is located within the College of Arts and Sciences. The vision for our College aligned with the universitys strategic plan is to ensure that our students graduate career-ready to meet the worlds challenges and that our faculty research and creative activity contribute to the public good. We achieve this through robust collaboration across departmental boundaries with particular attention given to increasing experiential learning for our undergraduate and graduate students and connecting our scholarly and creative work to the needs of our region. We are especially interested in recruiting candidates who can contribute excellence in teaching scholarly/creative work and/or service toward achieving excellence throughout the university and to the greater community. The College is committed to faculty success providing resources and support within the Deans Office and through collaboration with Arts and Sciences departments and schools leadership teams in other colleges and university-serving partners such as the Center for Faculty Excellence. The Department of Psychology at BGSU enjoys a nationally ranked doctoral program that offers specializations in clinical industrial-organizational developmental and neural-cognitive sciences. The clinical area follows the scientist-practitioner model and has been continuously accredited by APA since 1970 receiving the highest level (then 7 years) of re-accreditation in 2016. Within the clinical area areas of specialty include child/adolescent behavioral medicine community and religion/spirituality. The new hire will join Clinical faculty members Eric Dubow Catherine Stein Annette Mahoney Carolyn Tompsett Abby Braden Rebecca Campbell and Dryw Dworsky (Director of Psychological Services Center). In all the department includes 20 faculty members approximately 80 graduate students and over 600 undergraduate majors. The faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and research. Teach undergraduate courses; teach graduate courses in clinical psychology; supervise Masters and PhD student research; contribute to clinical training
Maintain an active research program that results in publishing in peer-reviewed journals; seek external funding to support research
Provide service to the Department College University and profession

Ph.D. in Psychology from an APA-accredited clinical psychology program ABDs will be considered provided that all requirements for doctoral degree are met before the August start date
Demonstrated research productivity (peer-reviewed journal articles; book chapters in top-tier outlets; research presentations at national or international conferences)
Experience as teaching assistant and/or instructor for undergraduate psychology courses
Licensed as a Psychologist or license-eligible in Ohio within two years of hire Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching undergraduate psychology courses as the instructor of record using inclusive pedagogy
Experience mentoring students on research and/or professional development
