Event Lead Common House Chattanooga

More than a membership the Houses provide inclusive spaces to dine work and discover through daily programming curated experiences and opportunities to connect with other members.
The Event Lead is a key member of the Common House events team responsible for overseeing the successful execution of private events member functions and special gatherings. This position serves as the primary on-site point of contact during events ensuring seamless coordination between service staff kitchen bar and management teams. The Event Lead delivers exceptional hospitality while upholding Common House standards of professionalism warmth and attention to detail.
Core Responsibilities
Event Oversight & Guest Experience
- Serve as the on-site lead for assigned events managing event flow from setup through breakdown.
- Ensure all service staff deliver warm efficient and polished service reflective of the Common House standard.
- Greet clients and guests upon arrival provide event briefings and maintain strong communication throughout the event.
- Anticipate and address guest needs proactively resolving issues quickly and professionally.
- Partner with the Events Manager to ensure all event details are executed according to the BEO (Banquet Event Order) and client expectations.
Team Leadership & Communication
- Supervise and support event service staff assigning stations and responsibilities as appropriate.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to review timelines menu details VIPs and service standards.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen bar and management teams to maintain alignment during service.
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to staff reinforcing Common House service protocols and standards.
- Report post-event feedback inventory notes and any incident reports to the Events Manager promptly.
Event Execution & Operations
- Oversee event setup and breakdown ensuring accuracy cleanliness and timeliness.
Ensure all tables décor and service areas meet Common House presentation standards.
Maintain awareness of event pacing guest satisfaction and timing of food and beverage service. - Monitor and manage alcohol service in compliance with ABC regulations and company policy.
Support hands-on service as needed including running food clearing tables or managing buffets.
Administrative & Logistical Support
- Review BEOs prior to each event and clarify details with the Events Manager as needed.
- Track labor needs communicate call-outs or schedule changes and confirm staff arrival.
- Assist with inventory control rental tracking and event equipment maintenance.
- Submit post-event recaps summarizing timing guest feedback and opportunities for improvement.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Proven experience in hospitality or event leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards including cocktails wine and plated or buffet-style dining.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Calm professional demeanor under pressure and during high-volume events.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with POS systems and ability to follow detailed event timelines.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive inclusive and team-oriented workplace.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event coordination or hospitality leadership preferred.
- Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays as required by event schedule.
- Physical ability to stand walk bend and lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods.
Compliance & Cleanliness
- Ensure all event staff follow sanitation food safety and workplace safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of event and service areas before during and after each event.
- Uphold all liquor license and company policies regarding responsible alcohol service.
Additional Expectations
- Arrive prepared in proper uniform and ready to lead each event.
- Attend scheduled trainings meetings and pre-event briefings.
- Represent Common House with professionalism and hospitality in every interaction.
