THIS IS A 5 DAY EMERGENCY POSTINGThis is a long-term substitute position until approximately 2/27/2026. This position is 32.5 hours per week (6.5 hours per day with a 1/2 hr unpaid lunch break) and pays $15 hr. REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education Assistant Director of Special Education Building PrincipalESSENTIAL FUNCTION:The Behaviorist is responsible to work directly with students who have behavioral needs by implementing behaviorally based interventions and providing behavioral supports within the educational environment. The Behaviorist is expected to have strong knowledge of and experience with behavioral management and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and under direct supervisiondemonstrate flexibility and efficiency in all aspects of the position and have strong communication DUTIES:1. Implement behavior strategies with students across educational settings.2. Demonstrate appropriate behavioral interventions to support students in the educational setting.3. Ability to manage severe or significant disruptive behavior using proactive de-escalation techniques and CPI interventions if necessary to ensure student safety.4. Collect data using direct and indirect methods. Knowledge of graphing preferred.5. Assist in the implementation of behavioral support plans.6. Assist in the development of intervention plans as appropriate.7. Prepare notes using objective data and observations.8. Collaborate closely with team members and appropriate related service staff.9. Communicate clearly orally and in writing.10. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate :1. Experience working with students who have behavioral needs2. Completion of CPI; training will be provided3. Ability to perform all necessary physical activities to fulfill job responsibilities
