Clinical Trials Pharmacist Staff Grade

Purpose of the Role:

The Clinical Trials Staff Grade Pharmacist in CHI will work closely with the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Manager and other members of the clinical trials team to assist in the management and expansion of the Clinical Trials Service in line with CHIs operating model.

The clinical trials pharmacy offers a variety of services to achieve the highest possible standards of care for study participants. The primary objective of this service is to optimise quality use of investigational existence since 2010 the Unit has expanded in terms of the number of clinical trials and studies that it supports and is striving to ensure children have the opportunity to participate in and benefit from research within the facility the hospital and the wider research community.

Essential Criteria:

Registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or be entitled to be registered.

Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience of working in a clinical or research setting preferably in paediatrics is desirable.

  • Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability professional knowledge and ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and of the governance and legislative requirements relating to the conduct of clinical research in Ireland

Basic therapeutic knowledge of medications used in hospital.

  • Good interpersonal and people management skills
  • Good organisational skills

Good IT skills experience with e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
