Job Description

Location: Remote Sao Paulo Brazil

Territory:Primarily Brazil including some travel with in the Latam Region.

Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific provides integrated solutions instrument and enterprise services to our customers. This Field Service Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of field service support and customer relationship management. The successful candidate will provide complete services on X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry X-Ray Diffraction Analyzers PGNAA/PFTNA (cross belt) systems including installation repairs preventative maintenance and instrument qualifications. Our ideal candidate will be customer oriented an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific in customer laboratories and be eager to drive growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Familiarization with specific instrumentation prior to installation from issued documentation and/or participation in the final testing process in the factoryand liaise with customers and colleagues in the site planning process prior to installation

  • Inspect install set up test and achieve specifications of systems and accessories at customers sites and deliver basic operator training

  • Provide technical software and application related support and assistance to customers and to colleagues either directly or by remote diagnosis

  • Frequent travel within Brazil is a crucial part of the job. Also travel to customer sites abroad is also encouraged especially within LATAM.

  • Solving on-site using electrical measurement tools or via remote diagnostic software to independently settle whether an onsite visit is .

  • Makes travel arrangements and generates individual expense reports.

  • Coordinates customer Remote Sessions phone support and lab facility inspection and communicates/works closely with service/support centers.

Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in electrical engineering electronics mechanics or automation related fields or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical electro-mechanical and/or electronic equipment.

  • Capacity to take ownership for the complete installation and commissioning of sophisticated instrumentation and to instruct users in its basic operation

  • Ability to diagnose causes of malfunction and to actively resolve customers service problems.

  • General understanding of analog electronics high voltage circuitry/circuits x-ray technology and high vacuum systems and ability to communicate optimally at all levels with good spoken and written English and Portuguese

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate sophisticated technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.

  • Outgoing and good at building relationships through encouraging trust and confidence

  • Strong interpersonal and prioritizing skills adaptability and reliability and ability to travel on a routine basis and maintain a current Passport as required for international travel.
