JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The new Flourishing Education Research Lab at Penn State invites applications for a Part-Time Project Manager to support innovative human flourishing and education initiatives. This position will help oversee undergraduate student teams who are engaged in co-design research to develop and evaluate interventions that promote mindfulness compassion and resilience among college students. The Project Manager will play a critical role in coordinating research activities and protocols supporting curriculum and intervention development and managing day-to-day project operations.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing program focused on transforming student well-being through evidence-based relational approaches.

Responsibilities

The Part-Time Project Manager will:

  • Coordinate and mentor undergraduate student teams engaged in co-design research
  • Support the design implementation and evaluation of human flourishing education interventions
  • Organize project meetings timelines and documentation to ensure smooth workflow
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across student faculty and community partners
  • Assist with research protocols including participant recruitment and data management
  • Support preparation of project materials such as workshop guides lesson plans and evaluation tools

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience working with undergraduate or adolescent learners in educational or mentoring contexts
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with diverse student groups
  • Interest in mindfulness compassion social and emotional learning and student well-being initiatives

Preferred:

  • Bachelors and/or masters degree in education human development or psychology
  • Prior experience in co-design participatory research or intervention development
  • Experience working in a research lab or educational innovation environment

Work Arrangement & Hours:

  • Part-time approximately 25 hours per week
  • Hybrid work environment (in-person and remote work)
