Part-time Veterinary Assistant

Elko Veterinary Clinic is looking for Veterinary Assistants to join our team. Our busy full-service mixed animal practice is seeking dedicated team members who are looking to utilize their skills and knowledge. Full-time or Part-time shifts available.

• Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience education certifications licensure and location.
• Schedule: Full-time Four 10-hour shifts per week. Primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time flexible scheduling including weekend coverage.
• On-Call: After hours rotating on-call scheduling required.

Who You Are:

If you are that veterinary assistant who is looking for an exciting no day ever the same fast-paced fun energetic veterinary hospital then we look forward to hearing from you!

• 1 years of veterinary clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Willingness to learn and be trained in all aspects of veterinary medicine and patient care
• Passion for working with large and small animals birds exotics and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis cytology bloodwork fecal analysis
• Administer medications vaccines and treatments per doctor orders
• Surgical set-up pre-operative and post-operative surgical care sterilizing surgical instruments maintaining aseptic technique
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams treatments and surgical procedures
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology positioning
• Ensure a clean safe and organized work environment
• Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
