Job Summary

GENERAL PURPOSE:Under the direction of the Facilities Director and Building Principal performs a variety of building maintenance and repair duties involving buildings and properties equipment and machinery. Provides support to other departments as needed. QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Minimum of Five (5) years experience in the electrical building maintenance trade with preference given for years of work in a public school setting. Must have a current Massachusetts Master Electrician License. License must be maintained while employed as a Maintenance/ Electrician. Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and the Code of Massachusetts Regulations (C.M.R.) as it pertains to electrical maintenance and construction. Mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of building and equipment maintenance repairs and operations various building trades construction techniques and state federal and local regulations regarding the proper care and protection of public buildings and the safety of its occupants. Ability to perform emergency and routine repairs landscaping and snow removal functions. Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance tasks using hand and power tools and other related equipment. Proficient in the use of technology and computer programs such as Microsoft Office and other related software to write reports log inventory and preventative maintenance functions and manage software-driven digital building control systems. Excellent organizational skills and record keeping reading comprehension problem-solving/ troubleshooting and good oral/ written communication skills. Ability to work independently with little direction and with diverse groups. Minimum High School Diploma. Valid Massachusetts drivers license.
