TABER CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL- Central Elementary School is an Early Learning to grade five elementary school that supports a diverse community of learners in the heart of Taber Alberta. We have a population of approximately 220 students and a staff of 25.

(2) Regular Educational Assistants approx. 30 hours/week

Hours of work include-Monday Thursday 8:20 a.m. 3:20 p.m. and Friday 8:20 a.m. 12:10 p.m.

Assignments Include-Taber Central School has two (2) openings for probationary Educational Assistants commencing mid-November of this school year. The range of students is from Early Learning programming through to grade 5. Experience working with students of various ages and needs is pertinent. Training with communication English as an additional language and supporting students with complex needs would be considered an asset. An understanding of inclusion and supports for diverse learners would be seen as a strength. These positions will require the candidates to work closely with students who have complex needs such as autism physical adaptations and speech and/or language delays.

• Ensures the safety of students in the school and community which includes maintaining close supervision of students ensuring studentequipment is sanitized and put away retrieving students who attemptto leave their learningenvironment calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting studentswho utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e. scissors cooking utensils etc.).
• Maintains collegial relationships with the students learning team.
