This Regulatory Technical Specialist position supports ENTACTs project field remediation activities and is an integral part of our industry leading project teams. Thiswill be based in our regional office in Pittsburgh PA. Position Summary: The Regulatory Technical Specialist will provide technical and quality control support to our nationwide project teams on active project sites. Responsibilities include areas of field sampling/sample preparation field quality control handling of contaminated media site investigation and remediation support activities and overall familiarity with site safety requirements. Essential Job Functions: - Assist in research and reviews of regulatory requirements for CERCLA RCRA and TSCA sites.
- Plan lead conduct and direct work in a safe and compliant manner.
- Perform waste characterization sampling activities in the field and coordinate with laboratories for proper sampling. handling processing pick-up and delivery.
- Review of chemical and geotechnical laboratory analysis results for soil water and waste materials and summation of data in contrast to compliance requirements/regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project permit applications workplans and other associated plans.
- Participate in design and product specification review and assist in sourcing materials for bids and projects.
- Perform monthly audits of project field documents and procedures related to sampling activities and off-site shipments of waste materials.
- Assist in the development of final reports on completed projects along with operation and maintenance plans.
- Associate will be able to spend a minimum of 2 days per week in one of ENTACTs regional offices. This will allow for mentorship and training with in-house Senior Regulatory and Technical Professionals.
- Associate will be willing to travel nationally to ENTACTs project sites and accept field assignments as needed to support the execution of these projects.
Skills/Experience Required: - A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the environmental industry in a HAZMAT environment.
- Experience in coordinating with vendors and subcontractors such as drillers and laboratories to implement remedial action construction and site investigation activities.
- Experience with field quality control measures for construction activities and inspection and reporting procedures for Soil Erosion & Sediment Controls as part of a SWPPP/General Permit.
- Ability to maintain detailed field logs and develop accurate record documents for site activities familiarity with GIS a plus.
- Strong research capabilities and technical writing skills in support of permit preparation/applications and work plan development.
- Bachelor of Science in Geology Environmental Science(s) Biology or Survey/Land Use Planning or a related field.
- HAZWOPER training is highly preferred but not required.
- Must have a valid drivers license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements.
- Professional certifications a plus.
