The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning them to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.The Louisiana Veterans Homes is seeking a hardworking and dependable Food Service WAEto assist with the sufficient preparation and operation of the Dietary department. This role is vital in ensuring basic-level food service preparation duties within the food service operation.The ideal candidate a team player willing to learn and be able to maintain job requirements in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The Food Service Specialist WAE requires dietary work for the Louisiana Veterans Home and will perform specific functions such as:- Prepares salads; cuts desserts; makes tea jello and sandwiches; and fills salt and pepper shakers prior to mealtime.
- Washes chops and cuts vegetables; opens cans and assists food preparation specialists in preparing foods prior to cooking.
- Measures and assembles ingredients.
- Washes dishes and pots.
- Performs duties that involve the cleaning and sanitation of the food service area.
