The Print/Mail Specialist performs technical-clerical and manual work in sorting and distributing mail reports checks and other documents between all county offices elected officials and departments for Commissioners Court. Work involves sorting and distributing incoming mail attaching postage to outgoing mail and making County-wide and inter-department mail deliveries.
Processes mail using the county system which automates shipping tracking accounting and reporting of all incoming and outgoing mail.
Performs print shop duties including maintenance of machinery assembling of print jobs quality control of print jobs and other duties as assigned or needed.
Prints daily and monthly reports which monitors and controls shipping and mailing-related expenses.
Receives and delivers U.S. mail to and from post office as well as completes paper work relating to Express and Certified mailings.
Provides general information regarding postal rules and regulations to the elected officials department heads and other employees.
Answers the telephone and assists with inquiries related to postage mail or printing.
Operates a variety of machinery and equipment such as light table collator folder paper jogger hole drill paper cutter binder etc. to prepare a variety of reports forms letterheads and other printed materials as requested.
Performs minor maintenance and repair on copiers and printing and postage equipment as necessary.
Sends and receives faxed copies from various departments.
Opens and closes Print Mail Department.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Performs other related duties as required.
High School diploma or GED and a minimum one year of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Possession of a valid drivers license required. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas drivers license within 90 days of employment.
This position requires the ability tolift up to 50 pounds daily and 75 pounds occasionally.
This position will primarily be driving a route daily to deliver and pick up mail at all Denton County Department locations which will be about 50% of the scheduled work time.
