Reporting to the Assistant Director for Campus Life the Coordinator for Student Involvement will serve as LSU Campus Lifes dedicated champion for student organizations and involvement. This role leads the Campus Life Ambassadors program a team of 15 student leaders who provide front desk support event assistance and peer-to-peer outreach. The coordinator also oversees key student organization processes including annual registration officer eligibility verification officer and advisor trainings and the event approval workflow. By streamlining these systems and empowering student leaders the coordinator ensures that student organizations can thrive helping students build community grow as leaders and enhance their overall success at LSU.

Student organizations are one of the most powerful drivers of connection retention and leadership development at LSU. The Coordinator for Student Involvement will serve as an advocate for LSUs 450 student organizations to streamline processes remove barriers and create user-friendly systems that make it easier for students to launch events access resources and thrive as leaders during a time when students are seeking meaningful connection more than ever.
Lead the Campus Life Ambassadors Program
The Campus Life Ambassadors program is a new initiative designed to transform how Campus Life engages with students at the front desk at events and through peer-to-peer outreach. The Coordinator will shape this program from the ground up intentionally crafting all aspects of this inaugural initiative as well as recruiting training and mentoring 15 student leaders to deliver outstanding service in order to advance Campus Lifes priorities..
Streamline Student Engagement Processes
With new compliance expectations and growing demand for involvement LSU is committed to making participation easier clearer and more student-friendly. The Coordinator will lead improvements to registration officer eligibility advisor training and event approval workflows ensuring students spend less time navigating red tape and more time leading.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Support (40%) - Coordinates logistics and operations for one or more programs events experiences or services related to student involvement. Oversees expenditures for one or more events experiences or services within the assigned function.
Direct Student Support (25%) - Advise students individually on providing frontline service and support. Translates department efforts initiatives and goals to students through interactions at programs services events and experiences. Serve as the liaison between students and the leadership in the unit. Responsible for support and coaching event planning curriculum design facilitation assessment and campus collaborations related to the assigned function.
Administrative Support (20%) - Responsible for day-to-day operations for Student Involvement and the Campus Life Ambassadors program through administrative management. Processes departmental expenditures.
Quality Control (10%) - Ensures every aspect of student involvement outputs including administrative tasks implementation and overall design exudes a high degree of quality. Embraces and executes the marginal gains approach and seeks to increase the level of all services events programs and experiences in department for continuous improvement every academic year.
Other Duties As Assigned (5%) - Other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Life and direct supervisor. This includes but is not limited to: efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including at least 40 hours per year spent helping divisional initiatives such as Move-In Day Welcome Week Family Weekend Career Expo Disability Services Finals Testing other special projects etc.

As with all LSU employees due to this position title and/or responsibilities this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services.
