The Commercial Creation Center & CDI (C4) team builds and maintains the platforms and capabilities that enable Pfizer Business Units to connect digitally with our external customers and effectively engage and collaborate across teams internally. This includes all digital (web mobile omni-channel & devices) products platforms services and experiences in service of patients HCPs payors pharmacists or clinical sites. We build advanced cloud-based technology solutions at a global scale that positively impact Pfizer business performance.
Patient and Marketplace Corp. Affairs: Within C4 the Patient and Marketplace Corp. Affairs team is accountable for delivering patient-facing digital companions and external marketplace solutions to increase customer value and simplify specialty pharma services to ensure patients can acquire Pfizer breakthroughs.
The U.S. Channels and Global Web Experience team directly owns and operates the operation of our primary U.S. corporate social channels and the look and feel of our regional corporate sites around the world consulting and supporting objectives from various stakeholders across the entire company as well as directly setting objectives and delivering on them.
The Solutions Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for developing ideas and leading the design and overseeing the implementation of complex cutting-edge technical solutions across business units. This role serves as the bridge between business requirements and technical capabilities translating stakeholder needs into innovative and scalable solutions that leverage emerging technologies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Subject Matter Expertise - General
Design and architect technical solutions that address stakeholder needs while adhering to best practices industry standards and Pfizers technology strategies.
Develop detailed technical specifications system architectures and implementation plans for immersive solutions.
Oversee the implementation of digital solutions by development teams ensuring adherence to the defined technical architecture and design principles.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations security protocols and industry best practices related to solution development and deployment.
Act as technical lead for (and functionality shared with our regional sites): accountable for the technical strategy in close coordination with Platform team and other technical partners.
Strategic Leadership & Delivery
Take risk-based approach to advance innovative processes and methodologies based on comprehensive business knowledge for evaluation and recommendation of appropriate technologies platforms and frameworks considering factors such as scalability performance security and integration with existing systems.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technologies industry trends and best practices and drive the adoption of new solutions and strategies.
Resource and Financial Management
Provide direction and oversight to colleagues and contractors that comprise the technical/engineering team.
Leads people technological and financial resources within the Business Unit (often by influence rather than direct authority).
Cross- Team Collaboration
Collaborate with the Delivery Lead Service Owners stakeholders and development teams to gather and analyze business requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including the Technical Services Leads and Platform teams to ensure seamless integration and support for solutions with Pfizers digital platforms and technologies.
Use a variety of communication tools and techniques to present complex ideas; Anticipates potential objections and influences others.
Coaching and Mentorship
Conduct technical design reviews and solution evaluations to ensure alignment with business requirements technological constraints and industry best practices.
Actively shares knowledge with multiple functions in Global Business Unit through existing knowledge sharing processes/systems on technical design reviews and solution evaluations to ensure alignment with business requirements technological constraints and industry best practices.
Contributes to the development of organizational knowledge management processes/systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related technical field.
7 years of extensive experience in solution architecture technical design and implementation of complex software systems.
Strong understanding of Drupal/PHP/MySQL stack development technologies platforms and frameworks along with their strengths limitations and integration capabilities. Deep understanding of Drupals caching system modules crons taxonomies is a plus.
Strong proficiency in programming languages development tools and software engineering practices relevant to implementing and integrating CMS tools with modern frontend technologies (e.g. HTML5 CSS3 ES6). Experience with a popular JavaScript framework like React Next Vue Angular is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and trade-offs.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies project management practices and software development life cycles.
Passion for exploring emerging technologies and driving innovation in the field of GenAI/LLM/Semantic Search (several related efforts underway looking for leadership and individually contribution).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality robust and scalable technical solutions.
Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) continuous integration continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and JIRA/Confluence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree or relevant certifications.
Experience in the Pharma industry.
Experience with Microsoft Technology Stack framework & SharePoint and demonstrated understanding of cloud application architectures.
Familiarity with front end modern application frameworks and tools such as Ionic Apple Swift kotlin . and / or back end frameworks and tools such as Java Laravel Drupal Python PHP.
High proficiency and proven successful delivery of experiences using Agile development especially scaled agile and lean techniques and methodologies (Disciplined Agile SAFe etc.).
Proven track record of coaching and/or managing a technical team a plus.
Any relevant certifications applicable to the skills listed above are a plus.
