This Spring 2026 Trainee position is from the January 12 19 or 26 2026 to June 26th 2026 (start and end dates are flexible based on your schedule) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday through Friday in the specified location. This type of opportunity will jump-start your career and prepare you for a career in the desired field. This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.
The Post Production team oversees and manages the post process for all Columbia/Tristar feature films. From establishing the budgets that control production workflows for camera and sound on set through the editing process to its final delivery the post team works very closely with the creative executives and filmmakers to ensure the look and sound of the film is at the highest quality. The post process includes picture editorial sound visual effects and music. Additionally our team is responsible for providing quality-controlled content and technical support for special events previews and premieres.
Responsibilities:
Help with the daily function of the office; answer phones file assist the managers drive ons etc
Shadow Post Executives on their projects (assist with screenings learn post schedules observe and aid in creating purchase orders help set up editorial & their offices help wrap editorial teams learn delivery of films etc)
Assist with (actor re-recording lines) ADR scheduling and loop packets as well as attend a session if on lot
Learn how to create post production schedules
Learn the dailies process and observe PIX eCinema and Aspera as it is strongly utilized on every show
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required
Highly organized resourceful and dependable with excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a voluminous deadline-oriented department
Must be willing to take and follow directions as well as be flexible an ability to work well in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision
Common sense dependability discretion and attention to detail are required
Preferred interest in Editing/Sound/Color/Post & computer and technology literate
Preferred Qualifications:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including without limitation the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position years of relevant experience level of education attained certifications or other professional licenses held and if applicable the location of the position.
