The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Dermatology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant 1 to work in Miami FL. The Certified Nursing Assistant 1 performs standard patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse. The incumbent assists patients in dressing and undressing bathing and eating and collects noninvasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs. The Certified Nursing Assistant 1 aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures and documents patient interactions.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the sterilization and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
Maintain updated knowledge of sterile techniques and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
Provide additional support for triage unit and assist with incoming calls as needed.
Administers non-sterile dressings surgical preps ice packs heat treatments sitz and therapeutic baths and applies restraints.
Ensure rooms are appropriately equipped and ready to use
Stock each clinic room on a regular basis throughout the day and rotate inventory assure all stock is within expiration limits.
Assist with inventory counts and controls as directed by nursing supervisors.
Assist with medical records paperwork etc.
Document any/allcommunication with the patient within the medical record office visits telephone conversations messages etc.
Consistently maintain complete confidentiality regarding patient care as per HIPAA requirements
Conduct daily activities communications and interactions in a positive and professional manner
Identify and report potential and active environmental safety hazards
Implement clinical and technical aspects of patient care with proper technique procedure and safety precautions

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification in relevant specialty or field
0-1 year of relevant experience
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings nights and weekends as necessary.
Commitment to the Universitys core values.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
