Job Summary

Function as Assistant Director of the University Budget Office maintaining compliance standards. Responsible for fiscal management and reporting business/technical analysis process improvement records maintenance budget development user training and communications.

Additional Information

The Budget Office serves as the Universitys central administrator of budgets for the campus and liaison to state governing bodies for financial reporting. The department is comprised of three full-time Civil Service employees and one part-time Civil Service employee. These positions include the Budget Office Director Budget Office Assistant Director Data Analyst and Budget Analyst.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$85000 - $96000 annual

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelors (or higher) degree with a major in Finance Accountancy Business Administration Communication Economics Public Administration Management or Marketing Transcripts required (may be unofficial).

2. Three (3) years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional-level experience in business operations financial management budgeting or a closely related area.

Work Hours

Core work hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.

If hired out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days from the start date for this position.
