Job Summary

Job Title: Coordinator of Attendance & Membership

Job Summary:

The purpose of this job is to provide leadership and oversight for all functions related to attendance truancy zone transfers and membership/enrollment data. The position ensures consistent implementation of division policies and procedures supports schools in promoting regular attendance and serves as a key liaison among schools families and community agencies. The Coordinator works collaboratively with administrators school social workers and external partners to reduce barriers that contribute to chronic absenteeism and truancy.

Essential Duties

  1. Oversee all student attendance and truancy processes in compliance with applicable laws policies and regulations.
  2. Manage zone transfer and non-resident enrollment requests and maintain accurate records.
  3. Collaborate with other departments to maintain data integrity troubleshoot provide training and support staff as it relates to enrollments membership zone transfers attendance and truancy.
  4. Organize and facilitate division-level multidisciplinary truancy meetings.
  5. Serve as liaison to the Juvenile Court Court Services Unit (CSU) and Department of Social Services (DSS) for truancy matters.
  6. Monitor division-wide attendance and truancy data and provide regular analysis and reports.
  7. Develop and support division-wide practices that strengthen student engagement and reduce barriers to attendance.
  8. Support schools in implementing attendance interventions and strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism.
  9. Collect analyze and report student enrollment and membership data.
  10. Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
  11. Perform related work as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications

Bachelors degree in education human services or public administration with preference given to applicants who demonstrate experience in the K-12 school setting data management or administrative roles. Experience with student information systems is preferred.

Alternatives to the above qualifications shall be determined as the School Board or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Special Requirements:

Must hold a valid Virginia drivers license.
