Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform financial analysis identifying trends and variances.
- Review and provide in-depth analysis of project revenues costs budgets and variances.
- Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts.
- Improve and enhance processes and internal controls.
- Compile consolidated financial statements including balance sheet income statement equity statement and cash flow statement.
- Prepare financial transaction reports such as income and loss statements balance sheets and account reconciliations.
- Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable weekly.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and generate monthly client invoices.
- Manage tax filings and maintain the tax calendar.
- Enter all cash receipts and disbursements for IOLTA trust and operating accounts into the accounting system.
- Provide all required financial reports to the firms owner monthly.
- Develop plans for growth to increase profitability while reducing expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Assist with year-end audit financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Reside in the state of Florida
- Minimum bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting.
- At least three years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a law firm or accounting firm environment.
- Deep knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel data entry and accounting software.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling financial data.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
