This year we proudly launched Amplify a dedicated EV technologies and services business led by an experienced team of sector experts as part of the Sinewave Group of businesses. Our Amplify team provide a full wrap around of EV charging technologies and services to the grid connection and ICP works that the Sinewave Group are renowned for.

From commercial and technical consultancy detailed site design supply installation and connection of leading charging hardware software systems driver support centre and full site O&M the Amplify team support customers throughout their electrification and expansion programmes.

This role:

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to come and join our growing Amplify Technical team.

This will be someone who challenges what we do daily and thrives working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines helping us build for the future.

An idea of what youll be doing:

Commissioning of EV Chargers:

Commission and configure AC Rapid DC and HPC EV chargers at client premises.

Perform initial setup and testing to verify proper functionality and adherence to industry regulations.

Work closely with project management and installation teams to integrate charging stations effectively into client systems.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Execute scheduled and preventative maintenance on EV charging infrastructure to maximise reliability and availability.

Identify and resolve technical faults involving electrical mechanical and software elements.

Carry out diagnostic assessments firmware upgrades and calibrations as needed.

Swap out defective parts ensuring all repairs align with manufacturer specifications.

Customer Support:

Deliver hands-on technical assistance and training to clients regarding EV charger usage and functionality.

Address service calls efficiently while keeping clients informed to enhance satisfaction.

Log all service tasks such as repairs maintenance and client engagements within the service management platform.

Compliance and Safety:

Comply fully with safety protocols and company guidelines during field operations.

Maintain alignment with local electrical standards and codes in all commissioning and maintenance work.

Engage in ongoing safety training and certification programs as mandated.

Youll have a proven track record of:

Proficiency with fundamental test and measurement tools including multimeters and voltage testers.

Expertise in diagnosing and resolving intricate technical faults.

Prior experience in field service ideally within EV charging renewable energy or power electronics industries desirable

Practical experience commissioning maintaining and repairing AC Rapid DC and HPC EV chargers desirable

Practical experience with BP Pulse EV chargers is desirable.

Skill in interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation desirable

Solid knowledge of analogue and digital electronics fundamentals and components desirable.

Self-motivated approach to independent work including efficient time management during travel between client locations.

Awareness of electrical hazards and on-site health and safety protocols desirable


Requirements

Youll be a successful Field Service Engineer at Amplify if youre

Full UK Driving License (Maximum 3 points)

Level 3 Electro-technical qualification or equivalent

Relevant electrical certifications such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds 2391/2394 for Testing and Inspection desirable

Certification in EV charging stations or manufacturer-specific training is advantageous.

Comply with all company policies procedures and business ethics codes including the anti-bribery policy while adhering to the Environmental and Quality Management System in alignment with ISO standards and the requirements of the NERS accreditation.

Required Skills:

Youll have a proven track record of: Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office Microsoft Teams SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones tablets laptops etc. Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team Excellent listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions Self-starter with project management experience with the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines In-depth knowledge of the ICP market electrical industry and current events Strong ability to identify trends in the current and future market/opportunities in the UK Excellent networking ability with strong existing networks within the sector Ability to confidently explain and demonstrate best practices when dealing with O&M contracts and service deliveries Detailed knowledge of Quality and Safety Management systems Confident in supporting a dynamic Commercial team with industry and sales guidance Excellent time management and organisation
