Production Supervisor Evening Shift

Were seeking aleader for our Aerospace plant with strong communication and team building skills who helps the operations team successfully deliver quality parts on-time to customers safely. This will be an evening shift.

What Youll Be Doing:

Oversee activities of employees working in the manufacturing of product to ensure safety quality and productivity. Actas an effective communicator between management and production employees in order tobuild and maintain relationships. Plan and assign work implement procedures and enforce policies. Suggest methods for improving production processes or operating conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

• Understand all the parts of the production processin order to develop methods to utilize personnel and resources in the best possible ways:
  1. Ensure employees follow safety regulationsknowledgeable about safety requirements and make sure that no violations occur
  2. Ensure production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards
  3. Ensure steady flow of production activities by coordinates working schedules and overtime to meet production goals.
  4. Ensure optimal machine utilization
  5. Ensure supplies and resources are provided
• Initiate recommend investigate trouble-shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the products process and quality system
• Motivate and develop a cohesive production team by building trust rewarding recognizing positive behavior and solving conflicts quickly.
• Lead teams to meet production metrics and engage in continuous improvement activities. i.e. Kaizens team meetings
• Responsible for the operators performance reviews training & development discipline and attendance
• Recommends and implements action plans to correct deviations noted during audits.
• Develop more cost-effective processes and reducing waste while also increasing productivity and employee satisfaction.
• Assist with manpower planning and interviewing job applicants.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws which includes: include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Schedule:This supervisory level position is overtime-exempt and is expected to primarily support the off shift 2nd or evening/overnight shift who works ten or more hours per day four days per week Monday to Thursday. Training may occur on other shifts and days or could include a split shift of 10AM-8:30PM or similar. May also rotate weekends with other supervisors as needed to support production overtime hours.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build a team environment

• Bachelors degree or equivalent mix of related leadership experience and training

• Two or more years related experience in manufacturing or job-shop environment

• Computer/technical skills including: Proficient in Microsoft office products MRP/ERP and ability to learn others as needed.

• Ability to work onsite with a reasonable commute to Shelbyville KY
• US Person as defined by ITAR/EAR requirements

Preferred:

• Bachelors Degree
• 2-5 years experience supervising or managing others
• Knowledge of metal forming roll forming welding machining metal fabrication
• Advanced Lean Manufacturing experience
• ISO or AS9100 Quality systems experience
