The Role

Telnyx is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to lead our global IT and Security operations ensuring business continuity operational excellence and compliance across a rapidly evolving high-performance technical environment.

As the senior leader of IT at Telnyx youll report directly to the CEO and take ownership of the companys IT infrastructure security frameworks and internal systems worldwide. Youll drive strategy elevate operational maturity and lead a distributed team focused on resilience automation and security at scale.

What Youll Do

  • Lead and scale the IT and Security Operations teams globally fostering a culture of ownership accountability and technical excellence.
  • Own and evolve the security and compliance strategy maintaining adherence to frameworks such as ISO 27001 SOC 2 GDPR CCPA and PCI.
  • Oversee global IT systems supporting distributed teams and high-availability environments ensuring reliability scalability and security.
  • Monitor and improve application compliance proactively identifying gaps and collaborating with Product Owners to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning ensuring robust response and recovery capabilities.
  • Introduce new tools processes and best practices to streamline operations and enhance security posture.
  • Ensure service excellence across internal technical support (Level 3) delivering timely and effective solutions to critical escalations.
  • Develop performance metrics and reporting for both internal leadership and external audits.

What Youll Bring

  • 7 years of progressive experience in IT Operations Security or Technical Infrastructure roles with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proven experience managing global teams and complex distributed environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge across Linux Python Microservices Nginx RabbitMQ SQL CI/CD pipelines Git Graylog Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in compliance frameworks (ISO 27001 SOC 2 GDPR CCPA PCI).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into business strategy.
  • A proactive hands-on approach with the ability to zoom out strategically when needed.
  • Proven record of implementing scalable systems and processes that improve performance and reduce risk.
  • Comfortable being on-call for critical issues outside of standard hours when necessary.
