A well-established and reputable business based in the York area is currently seeking a Finance Apprentice to join their finance team on a permanent full-time basis. This position includes a comprehensive study support package requiring attendance at college one day per week with the remaining four days spent on-site working closely with the finance team. Despite the weekly college day this opportunity is offered with a full-time salary and excellent development potential.

As the Finance Apprentice your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Helping to input and process supplier invoices staff expenses payment runs and purchase orders supporting the Purchase Ledger team.
• Assisting with the creation of customer invoices and uploading information to online customer portals as part of the Sales Ledger process.
• Supporting credit control tasks by following up on late payments and helping to keep cashflow on track.
• Entering financial information into the companys systems accurately and keeping records organised and up to date.
• Assisting with regular bank and supplier statement checks as well as helping with basic month-end finance activities.
• Preparing documents for audits and providing general administrative support to the wider finance team when needed.

To be successful in this finance Apprentice position you should ideally:

• Be enthusiastic about starting a finance career and committed to studying a professional qualification (e.g. AAT).
• Have strong attention to detail excellent organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
• Be confident communicating face-to-face across departments teams and varying seniority levels.
• Demonstrate ambition curiosity and willingness to develop skills across both Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger.
• Possess good excel skills and be open to learning new financial software and systems.
