Clinical Therapist
Department: Clinical Services
Reports To: Clinical Director or Program Director
Status: Exempt / Full-Time
Position Summary
The Clinical Therapist Therapist provides individual group and family therapy to a varied clientele experiencing emotional behavioral or mental health challenges. The therapist is responsible for conducting assessments developing individualized treatment plans and delivering evidence-based interventions designed to support stabilization growth and resilience. This position works closely with families group homes and community partners to ensure coordinated trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual family and group therapy for adolescents utilizing evidence-based approaches such as CBT DBT TF-CBT Circle of Security and MI.
- Complete intake and diagnostic assessments including risk and safety evaluations.
- Develop implement and regularly update treatment plans in collaboration with youth and their families.
- Maintain timely accurate and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with state and agency standards.
- Participate in treatment team meetings case consultations and multidisciplinary collaboration to support client progress.
- Coordinate with schools probation officers CFSD targeted case managers and other providers to promote continuity of care.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations following safety and escalation protocols.
- Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development maintaining required licensure and training standards.
- Uphold trauma-informed culturally responsive and professionally ethical clinical practices.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Montana licensure or eligibility as LCPC LCSW LMFT or candidate under supervision.
- Experience working with children adolescents and families in a clinical setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage resistant youth.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and developmental stages.
Preferred:
- Experience in community mental health school-based services or outpatient therapy programs.
- Training or certification in DBT TF-CBT EMDR Circle of Security or other evidence-based models for youth.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as BestNotes.
Work Environment
- Primarily office based with opportunities for telehealth and community-based sessions.
- Regular interaction with clients families and other treatment team members.
- Occasional evening hours may be required to accommodate client schedules.
