This is hybrid position based in Fremont CA; candidates must live within commuting distance and be onsite 4 days per week.

What You Will Do

• Lead and develop high-performing R&D teams by executing a robust talent strategy focused on attraction retention and engagement.

• Drive cross-functional collaboration to solve complex technical and business challenges using structured problem-solving methodologies.

• Manage high-complexity projects including planning budgeting and staffing to meet business goals and timelines.

• Translate department goals into actionable performance objectives for direct reports.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by overseeing design control processes and reviewing technical documentation.

• Lead Voice of Customer activities and champion customer-centric design practices.

• Develop and manage cost center budgets and contribute to business unit-level financial planning.

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assess emerging technologies and shape technical strategies.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering/Material Science/Chemistry or applicable technical field.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in R&D or engineering roles.

• Minimum 2 years of direct people management experience.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.

• Experience managing budgets and financial planning at the project or department level.

• Experience guiding a team through a full medical device product development cycle including scaleup and launch related activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of direct people management experience.

• Demonstrated success in coaching and developing team members through performance management strategies.

• Strong understanding of the healthcare market and clinical needs.

• Experience leading Voice of Customer initiatives and applying customer insights to product development.

• Ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts to diverse audiences.

$168500 - $286500 salary plus bonus eligible benefits. Individual pay is based on skills experience and other relevant factors.
