Job Responsibilities
- Direct and check the daily activities of pharmacy technicians.
- Interpret medication orders based on patients age and clinical status.
- Use relevant resources and references for checking appropriateness of medication order based on patients age and clinical status as needed.
- Perform calculations for special dilutions or formulations and prepare these medications as needed.
- Implement activities necessary for attainment of pharmacy objectives.
- Prepare intravenous solutions using aseptic techniques.
- Assist in procuring maintaining and storing an adequate inventory of medications.
- Perform clinical dosing programs established by the pharmacy.
- Actively participate in daily huddle passing information to other staff members.
- Accurately maintain required state and federal records for controlled substances and fill floor stock requests for controlled substances.
- Meet with drug company representatives to obtain information about products.
- Perform lab testing according to CLIA88 regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Minimum: Pharmacy degree from an accredited university as required by law
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum: Pharmacy Graduate of an accredited university.
- Preferred: One (1) year of hospital pharmacist experience.
License / Certification Requirements:
- Pharmacist license eligible to practice in the state of Indiana
