Choreographer for the BHS Spring Musical
Role Description:
The Choreographer will be responsible for designing creating and teaching dance routines for students. Tasks include planning choreography conducting rehearsals and providing dance instruction to help students refine their techniques. The Choreographer will collaborate with the Music and Artistic Directors as well as with the designers.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Dance Instruction Dance Education and Dance
- Proficiency in Choreography
- Knowledge of music as it relates to dance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff
- Previous experience in an educational setting is a plus
- Bachelors degree in Dance Performing Arts or a related field preferred
Schedule:
Rehearsal scheduleanticipated for 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm (Monday - Friday)
Auditions held in December with rehearsals starting in January
PerformancesMay 1 - 10th (5 shows)
Dance rehearsals are typically for two hours per week (i.e. one hour for the Select Dance Ensemble and the other hour would be for full cast or ensemble numbers).

Burlington High School
Compensation:
$1500 ($40/hour for 37 hours)
