Are you passionate about supporting whānau and improving health outcomes for tamariki Māori Hauraki Primary Health Organisation/Te Puna Hauora Matua o Hauraki is seeking a compassionate and community-focused Kaiāwhina to support the delivery of the Immunising Our Tamariki programme.
About the Role
The Kaiawhina will work alongside the Registered Nurse Immunisation youll help deliver whānau-centred services that contribute to the national health target: 95% of tamariki fully immunised by 24 months of age. This role is vital in reducing barriers to immunisation increasing access and supporting whānau with culturally responsive information.
Youll work across the Hauraki/Waikato region engaging directly with whānau communities and health providers to ensure tamariki receive timely immunisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support immunisation services in general practice and community outreach settings.
- Build strong trusting relationships with whānau and provide clear empathetic health education.
- Conduct Whānau Hauora Assessments and help whānau access services.
- Collaborate with community organisations and contribute to service quality improvement.
- Ensure accurate reporting and uphold privacy health and safety standards.
We are looking for someone who has
- Health-related experience and a passion for working with whānau.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
- Experience as a Health Care Assistant or Kaiawhina would be an advantage
- Familiarity with community health initiatives.
