Controls Engineer

Direct opportunity

Rate: $85-115K (based on experience level)

Hours: 7 or 8 AM start time with a 4 or 5 PM end time (could be additional hours required depending on equipment needs)

Cincinnati OH

Responsibilities:

- Utilize methods of engineering to maintain improve and implement control systems in a manufacturing environment while sustaining safety and quality standards.

- Primary processes include fine blanking presses with secondary finishing operations include sanding grinding deburr wash machine etc.).

- Automation and inspection of robotic material handling conveyors vision systems dimensional etc.

- Maintain safety quality and manufacturing standards in accordance with internal and external expectations.

- Troubleshoot control system problems and implement short- and long-term corrective actions.

- Integrate control systems to measure and/or improve performance.

- Create and maintain controller programs (i.e. PLC computer HMI VFD).

- Develop and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for control systems.

- Maintain electrical and controls drawings and schematics.

- Utilize a collaborative synchronous approach to project implementation.

- Participate in formal problem-solving activities including customer complaints and continual improvement projects.

- Provide controls support and troubleshooting training to maintenance staff.

- Complete other projects as assigned by executive leadership and management.

Requirements:

- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5 years programming experience and 5 years in an automotive manufacturing environment

- Mechatronics and integration experience

- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Office)

- Continuous improvement experience (i.e. Lean Six-Sigma etc.)

- Formal problem-solving and project management

- Design experience (AutoCAD SolidWorks)

- Training and team development

- Required training: IATF 16949 Overview ISO 14001 Overview and safety and health training as applicable
