RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will be responsible for films zippers & tray categories.

• Develop Category Strategies for films zippers and trays review and align with key stakeholders and implement.
  • Negotiates reviews and approves blanket purchase agreements with suppliers for overall management of up to $200 million annual spend.
• Lead Sourcing events for packagingat competitive prices consistent with quality quantity and delivery specifications.
  • Lead post-sourcing event transition management work with goal of clear communication in collaboration with plants minimize write offs and maximize savings realization.
• Mid-range forecast communication to suppliers in collaboration with plants to ensure product availability at suppliers warehouse.
• Contract Management: Implement contracts in partnership with legal and stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract policy.
  • Negotiates reviews and approves blanket purchase agreements with suppliers for overall management of up to $200 million annual spend.
• Supplier Management: Establishes develops and maintains supplier relationships providing data driven KPI feedback continuous improvement and holding QBRs
  • Identifies and recommends alternate suppliers and/or substitute sources of supply.
• Engagekey stakeholders including plantsR&D Marketing and Operations to gather input to strategy review supplier performance and provide metric driven actionable business improvements.
• Monitor market conditions and advise management of changes in supply prices and lead times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Record of successful experience in purchasing supply chain operationsengineeringor a related field.
• Strong pattern of initiative and achievement.
• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proven problem-solving decision-making and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

• Bachelors degree.
• Functional knowledge and understanding of the following computer/software programs: Financial Systems Software (Oracle) and other Hormel specific systems (AS 400 EAM QAD etc).
• 3 years of experience in Packaging Procurement.

LOCATION:Austin or Willmar MN

A comprehensive relocation package to the Austin or Willmar MN areas will be offered if needed.

TRAVEL:10% of the time

At Hormel Foods base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Procurement Senior Buyer role is between$91725 - $128425per year and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skill set level of experience and geographic market location.
